Energy efficiency is back on the agenda with the release of the Which? report on energy efficiency which you can find here. The report states that our homes are the least energy-efficient in Europe. The next UK government will need a new, locally focussed approach to their energy efficiency strategy. It will have to have learned from past schemes and involve far greater cross-departmental activity and have clear long term targets and plans. Vast numbers of consumers continue to live in inefficient homes. The impact of this is not only larger energy bills but peoples health and well-being suffers too.
This poignant report highlights an underdeveloped area that goes hand in hand with renewable energy. We need to reduce our demands on the energy production network to levels which can be sustained by renewable energies alone.
