7.5MW Wind Turbine by Enercon

This article from Windpower Monthly contains some impressive figures relating to the size of the new Enercon 7.5MW wind turbine. The largest onshore wind turbine so far in the world. RWE is one of Europe’s five leading electricity and gas companies, and as part of their 429MW Noordoostpolder site on the banks of the Ijsselmeer lake in central Netherlands, they are installing a total of 12 Enercon turbines.

Take a look at some of the sizes being discussed here, and look at the image which shows a simulated view of the installed 7.5MW machines, towering above the existing 300kW turbines.
