Mr Stephens and his family had for some time been concerned with the environmental issues in relation to running the campsite they own just outside Cardigan. In fact, they already had solar panels in place when they contacted SJ1 Renewables about assisting them with the design and planning permission to put in a wind turbine.

SJ1 Renewables were able to help by firstly carrying out Site Survey for a small scale wind turbine.

The onsite survey covered everything from measuring the average wind speed to ascertain estimated performance across the site to the optimum position of the turbine for energy generation to how construction and plant equipment would be moved on and off the site.

To gain permission on the site it was necessary to carry out both ecological and archaeological surveys as well as a Bat and Avian survey.
